Cimicidae or bed bugs (sometimes bedbugs), are small parasitic insects. The most common type is Cimex lectularius. The term usually refers to species that prefer to feed on human blood.
Cockroaches are insects of the order Blattaria or Blattodea. The name cockroach comes from the Spanish word cucaracha, chafer, beetle, from cuca "kind of caterpillar." The scientific name derives from the Latinized Greek name for the insect.
Flea is the common name for insects of the order Siphonaptera which are wingless insects with mouthparts adapted for piercing skin and sucking blood. Fleas are external parasites, living by hematophagy off the blood of mammals (including bats and humans) and birds.
Fire ants are a variety of stinging ants with over 280 species worldwide. They have several common names, including ginger ants and tropical fire ants. The bodies of fire ants, like all insects' bodies, are divided into three sections:
Termites are a group of eusocial insects that, until recently, were classified at the taxonomic rank of order Isoptera, but are now accepted as the epifamily Termitoidae, of the cockroach order Blattaria.
Carpenter ants are large (.25 to 1 in/0.63 to 2.5 cm) ants indigenous to many parts of the world. They prefer dead, damp wood in which to build nests. They do not eat it, however, unlike termites.
Just a few common questions asked by customers:
1. How do I prepare for a flea treatment?
A. Interior floors should be vacuumed to remove as many adult fleas and flea eggs as possible and have any unnecessary items removed..... so that the maximum amount of surface area may be treated. Improper sanitation will void any warranty.
B. Treat animals and wash or treat pet bedding.
C. Children and pets should not be allowed back into any treated area until all materials are completely dry as indicated by the pesticide label.
D. Exterior areas should have all pets, children, dog dishes, toys, and any other item that might be harmed by spraying removed so that as much surface area can be treated as possible. The grass should be trimmed short and all pet droppings be removed.
2. How long will it take to see the results of this treatment?
The adult fleas should be effected in just a few hours but on average about two weeks due to the flea egg cycle. Proper sanitation.. and a lot of vacuuming.. will play a big part in your particular results.
No material that I am aware of will prevent the eggs from hatching so they will continue in small numbers for about that two week period until the egg population is affected by the growth regulator and the egg population is exhausted.
3. How do I prepare for a roach treatment?
State law prohibits spraying over dishes and utensils so those items must be removed from storage areas. Clean or vacuum as many roach eggs and live roaches as possible.
4. How long will it take to see the results of this treatment?
Results should be seen within a week and should continue to improve over the following week until all roaches are gone if the sanitation is correct in the area. Again... improper sanitation will often void or severely limit a warranty.
